Old Pawn or Dead Pawn is the most highly sought after of Native American Jewelry. It can be new or previously worn. It is a native custom to use jewelry as a monetary vehicle and status symbol. it can be sold or traded. It has also been a means to use as collateral to winter over or in a time of need. It is not unusual that when a loved one would pass away that the family would pawn all of the deceased jewelry and split the money up among the family.
The Old Pawn and Native American Jewelry here is just what I have collected over the years and have used for demonstration, to my students of various techniques and designs.
